How
to control
lights
& appliances from
your
bedside
table

We've
all
had
this
happen
before
-
you
climb
into
bed,
ready
to
fall sleep,
but
realise the
bedroom
light
has
been
left on!
Wouldn't
it
be
great
if
you
could
switch
lights
on/off
whilst
you're
in
bed?
Or a
more
serious
matter...
You're
fast
asleep,
and
a
startling noise
awakens
you.
You
don't
want
to
get
out
of
bed,
but
wish
you
could
turn
on
the
hallway
light
or
outside
lights,
to
let
any
would-be
intruder
know
that
someone
is
awake.
Security-check
from
your
bed...
that's
the
desire.
Or
how
about
this
-
you've
just
awoken
in
the
morning,
and
are
about
to
get
up.
The
first
thing
you'd
like
is a
cup
of
coffee,
though
unfortunately
you
need
to
get
up &
go
and
brew
it
first.
Wouldn't
it
be
wonderful if
you
could
start
the
brewing
it whilst
still
in
bed,
and
curl
back
up
for
another
few
more
minutes?
The
solution

There
is a
solution
to
fulfil
all
these
requests.
Although
there
are Home
Automation
switches
available
that
can
be
mounted
in
the
vicinity
of
your
bed,
one
product
can
inconspicuously
be
mounted
right
on
your
bedside
table
-
MT10
-
Alarm
Clock
Timer.
This
device
looks
and
works
just
like
a
normal
alarm
clock
-
with
bright
LED
time,
alarm
clock
&
snooze
functionality,
etc
-
but
it
also
provides
control
over
your
Home
Automation.
By
replacing
your
alarm
clock
with
an
MT10
-
along
with
fitting
some
Automation
Receiver
modules
at
the
desired
lights
&
appliances,
management
of
your
home
is
now
available
from
your
bed
side
table.
The
unit
provides
the
ability
to
control
up
to 8
different
lights
&
devices
with
dedicated
buttons.
On/off
&
bright/dim
controls
are
just
a
reach
away
from
your
bed
sheets.
What's
more,
the
MT10
also
allows
schedules
to
be
created.
You
can
either
press
a
button
to
manually
control
a
light
or
appliance
(eg:
press
a
button
to
turn
off
the
bedroom
light,
or
to
start
your
coffee
pot
brewing),
or
you
can
set
schedule
so
that
your
curtains
auto-open
in
the
morning!
Or
have
it
switch
lights
off
around
the
house
at
preset
times.
The
MT10
is a
Controller
Module,
which
sends
out
the
Home
Automation
commands.
In
order
to
automate
a
light,
for
example,
you'll
also
need
to
fit
Receiver
Modules
-
either
DIY,
or
professionally.
Example
are:
Appliance
&
Lamp Modules
Appliance
Module
- plug
one
of
these
into
a powerpoint
and
plug
an
appliance
(eg:
coffee
pot)
into
it.
Then
you
can
turn
the
appliance
on &
off
from
your
alarm
clock.
Lamp
Module
- plug
one
of
these
into
a powerpoint
and
plug
a
lamp
into
it.
You
can
now
not
only
turn
your
lamp
on &
off
from
the
alarm
clock,
but
also
brighten
or
dim
the
light!
Light
Modules
We
also
have a
variety
of
light
modules;
ones
that
you
can
plug
into
a
light
socket
yourself,
or
ones
you
can
have
professionally
concealed
by
an
electrician.
When
you
press
a
button
on
the
MT10,
these
devices
will
turn
on/off
or
brighten/dim
the
attached
light.
The
possibilities
are
endless.
The
MT10
needn't
be
the
only
Controller
you
use;
you
can
also
control
the
same
lights
&
appliances
using
X10
Remotes,
motion
sensors,
touch
screens
and
much
more.
But
the
MT10
does
make
it
very
handy
to
do
it
all
whilst
you're
in
bed!
